This adorable little angel is Luna, she is 2 years old. She was recently diagnosed with Cancer, the type of Cancer is called Retinoblastoma. Retinoblastoma is a very rare malignant tumor that starts in the retina and can spread to the brain. 

Due to the pandemic Luna was not able to attend her regular checkup with her pediatrician, instead her checkups were conducted through video calls. Due to this her tumor was not discovered early enough. Earlier this week her parents German and Indira noticed Luna's pupil started turning white, they were alarmed. Luna was immediately taken to her doctor. Baby Luna was then examined by a specialist and was diagnosed with Stage 2 Retinoblastoma, she lost all eyesight in her left eye, with the Cancer spreading she needed immediate surgery. Yesterday morning she had a procedure called Enucleation, this is the removal of the eye.  Her left eye was completely removed in order to avoid the Cancer from spreading to her brain. She will now be receiving a prosthetic eye. Luna's surgery and prosthetic eye are not fully covered by her insurance, and her parents haven't been working as usual due to the pandemic and will have to take time off work to continuously take Luna to the doctor as well as take good care of her. Taking this into consideration,  her treatments and continuous check ups are constantly increasing in cost.

Este adorable angelito es Luna, tiene 2 años. Recientemente le diagnosticaron cáncer, Retinoblastoma. El Retinoblastoma es un tumor maligno muy poco común que comienza en la retina y puede extenderse al cerebro.

Debido a la pandemia, Luna no pudo asistir a su chequeo regular con su pediatra, sus chequeos se realizaron a través de videollamadas. Debido a esto, su tumor no se descubrió lo suficientemente temprano. A principios de esta semana, sus padres German e Indira notaron que la pupila de Luna comenzó a ponerse blanca, se alarmaron. Luna fue llevada de inmediato a su médico. Luego, la bebé Luna fue examinada por un especialista y le diagnosticaron Retinoblastoma en etapa 2, perdió toda la vista en el ojo izquierdo y el cáncer se extendió y necesitó una cirugía inmediata. Ayer por la mañana tuvo un procedimiento llamado Enucleación, es la extirpación del ojo. Le extirparon por completo el ojo izquierdo para evitar que el cáncer se propagara a su cerebro. Ahora recibirá una prótesis de ojo. La cirugía y la prótesis de ojo de Luna no están completamente cubiertas por su seguro medico, y sus padres no han estado trabajando como de costumbre debido a la pandemia, y ahora tendrán que tomarse mas tiempo fuera del trabajo para llevar a Luna al médico continuamente y cuidarla bien. Teniendo esto en cuenta, sus tratamientos e idas al doctor aumentan constantemente de costo.
