Hi, my name is Niall, and I am fundraising to save the life of my 2-year-old cat, Martin.

Martin is currently facing a severe, painful medical crisis. He has a critical corneal eye ulcer that is at risk of becoming a "melting ulcer" and rupturing. He is in constant, intense pain, and the most humane and definitive path forward to save him is a surgical eye enucleation (removing the eye entirely). On top of this, he has severely decayed teeth and a painful gum infection that require extensive dental surgery.

Because of how severe his conditions are, his veterinary care has to be split into two staged surgeries:

Stage 1 (Immediate Emergency): Surgical eye removal and castration. While he is under general anesthesia, the vet will perform both to tackle the immediate pain and get him safely desexed.

Stage 2 (Post-Recovery): Full dental extractions. Because his mouth has a severe infection, the vet cannot extract his rotten teeth at the same time as the eye surgery due to the high risk of bacteria transferring into his fresh, sterile eye wound. He will need to recover for a few weeks, and then go back under general anesthesia for a second procedure to remove the bad teeth.

Where the funds will go:
- $1,750 for the first emergency surgery (Eye enucleation, anesthesia, hospital stay, pain medications, and castration).
- $1,300 for the second staged surgery (Dental x-rays, second general anesthesia session, surgical extraction of his rotten teeth, and post-op care).
- $150 for essential recovery supplies (a soft comfy cone to protect his healing face, clean paper-pellet litter to protect his incisions, and liquid treats to hide his daily medications) and GoFundMe transaction fees.

Martin travelled and made so many memories with us, all around Australia, so he means the world to us. He is so young, and we want to give him the chance to live a long, happy, pain-free life. I have already applied to local charities for assistance, but the overall medical costs are more than we can handle upfront.

Any donation—no matter how small—will go directly toward paying his veterinary bills at Spearwood Veterinary Hospital. If you aren't able to donate, sharing Martin's story would mean the world to us.

Thank you so much for your kindness and support.
