Help 20 Music Teachers Travel to Peru

Tax deductible
The first edition of Festival Musicians for the World - Perú 2022 (MFW) will be held July 22-August 14, 2022 in the stunning Peruvian regions of Lima, Cusco, and Arequipa. Twenty MFW artists will bring world-class performances, open masterclasses, group lessons, and private lessons to some of the country’s most remote and vulnerable communities, such as the towns of Choquepata, the impoverished areas of Ancon, and Pamplona Alta, an area in the surrounding mountains of Lima inhabited by individuals who fled terrorism during the 70s and 80s.

This festival will feature world renowned artists such as solo pianist Kyle Orth, and the Castro-Balbi brothers who will be recording part of their documentary “Le Freres Castro-Balbi”

Faculty and students will collaborate side-by-side with local ensembles such as the National Symphony of Perú, Cusco Symphony, Arequipa Symphony, Los Violines de San Juan, and Daniel Alomias Robles Youth Orchestra. Compositions never performed in Peru will be
premiered such as Quartetto Dorico by Respighi, Bottesini Elegy performed by american bassist Kaden Henderson, and Clara Schumann piano concerto in A minor performed by Romanian pianist Eliza Puchianu.

In addition to classical studies, participants will be encouraged to embrace ethnic music and traditional styles by premiering compositions from Belize and Trinidad and Tobago; concerts will be held at culturally significant locations including the Gran Teatro Nacional, Church of the Andahuaylillas, and Machu Picchu.

Please help us by DONATING and SPREADING the word about this amazing event! your contribution will help us cover everyone's expenses including plane tickets, room and board, transportation with Perú, etc.
