Hello everyone,
My name is Mohammed and I am helping my dear friend Dr. Ahmed and his wife to raise funds to help them to get out of Gaza and to relocate to Egypt for their safety since there’s no place safe in all of Gaza now.
Here is his story with his own words..
My heart aches as I pen down these words, sharing our plight from within the confines of a makeshift tent on the shores of Rafah. My beloved wife, and I, Dr. Ahmed, find ourselves amidst the harsh reality of displacement, enduring sickness, cold, and the relentless sounds of war. Forced to relocate twelve times, our journey has led us to this humble tent, where the struggle for clean water and sustenance is a daily battle. Cut off from electricity and the world beyond, our spirits wane with each passing day.
In the chaos of conflict, our union was barely a week old when the war tore through our lives, reducing our once-beautiful home to rubble. The memory of its destruction weighs heavy on our hearts, as it stood as a testament to years of hard work and dedication. Despite being a dentist by profession, the dire need for medical aid compelled me to serve in the emergency department alongside other doctors, striving to save lives amidst the horror of war. The images of maimed children and the haunting echoes of bombs linger, leaving scars that may never heal.
Now, as we seek refuge from the incessant violence, our only wish is to escape to safety in Egypt, where we can rebuild our shattered lives. The road ahead is fraught with uncertainty, compounded by the exorbitant costs of travel and the daunting task of starting anew. With nothing but the clothes on our backs and the memories of our former life, we implore for assistance in our time of need.
Today marks the 141th day of our harrowing journey, and with each passing moment, the burden grows heavier. Fear and uncertainty cloud our days, as we grapple with the harsh realities of war. Sleep eludes us, and hunger gnaws at our insides, as we cling to hope amidst the darkness that surrounds us.
We humbly reach out, seeking a glimmer of hope amidst the despair, as we strive to forge a path towards a brighter tomorrow. Your kindness and generosity could be the lifeline we so desperately need.
