These updates were posted on July 1, 2026. ) I am shocked they are forcing a robbery victim to expose their name publicly so I’ll only add her last Initial to protect her safety. Our Story

My name is Brandy Jones and my husband’s name is Nathan jones. I am the mother of the victim (Angel W.) Nathan is Angels adopted father.

What happened:

On Saturday, June 6 2026 around 8pm just hours after the mass shooting near the Old West End festival that shattered our Toledo community, an entirely separate nightmare struck our family. 

  My 18-year-old daughter, Angel Wing, and her boyfriend Logan were targeted in a violent, armed robbery & attempted car jacking in front of  2550 Greenway Street near Ottawa Park in Toledo Ohio. They were held at gunpoint, and Angel was shot through the arm, and bullet went into and lodged in her chest and had to be surgically removed. She’s had to have multiple surgery’s while  pregnant.

Angel is currently 26 (now almost 28 weeks) pregnant with her very first child.

Logan’s story

We need the world to know about the incredible bravery of Angel’s boyfriend. During the robbery, the gunman while holding the weapon directly to his head. In a desperate act to protect his pregnant girlfriend, he fought back and tried to wrestle the gun away from the attacker. The gunman fired to kill him, but missed, and the bullet shattered Angel's arm and tore into her chest instead.

He is dealing with his own immense trauma from that terrifying moment, but he refuses to break. He has not (still even to this moment of editing this fundraiser) left Angel's side for a single second at the hospital (now she’s out of the icu and at a rehabilitation hospital) . He is completely dedicated, keeping vigil at her bedside, and preparing himself to take on the massive roles of full-time caregiver for Angel and a new father to their baby.

The Fight for Angel and Her Baby

The bullet shattered Angel’s arm, traveled directly into her chest, and lodged there before surgeons could remove it. The blast injury from the gunfire caused a devastating fracture to her 12th (now we know there are actually 2 fractures) vertebra, leaving her spinal cord severely traumatized.

Right now, Angel is (unfortunately still) completely paralyzed from the waist down with zero movement in her legs. Doctors are entirely unsure if she will ever walk again.

Because of the severe trauma, Angel went into early labor at just 26 weeks (thankfully they were able to stop the labor so she is now almost 28 weeks) . Her medical team has been working around the clock to slow her contractions. While they have managed to gap them out, they are treating this as an emergency situation where the baby will likely be born very early. Angel is being given aggressive medications to rapidly develop her baby boy’s brain and lungs. He currently weighs just 1 pound, 9 ounces. Every single day he stays inside her is a miracle.

Angel is in excruciating pain (still in severe pain), but her options for relief are severely restricted because protecting her baby comes first. She cannot take anti-inflammatories or certain steroids, and her pain medications are strictly limited. She spent half of yesterday on a ventilator in case of emergency surgery. Though she hasn't been able to eat since Saturday, she is awake and talking.

Her absolute biggest fear in life has always been paralysis. (She taking it better than I would though) Now, she is facing that reality while under immense stress, worrying constantly about how she will care for her newborn baby from a wheelchair.

Why We Need Your Help Directly

We are setting a goal of $50,000 to completely overhaul our lives so Angel, her boyfriend, and their baby have a safe, accessible environment to heal. 

  My husband works at Jeep and faces frequent layoffs, meaning we simply do not have the savings required for the massive structural changes needed immediately. (Or if through extensive rehabilitation treatment hopefully she can learn to walk again or loan to navigate the wheelchair with a brand new arm surgery and two plated placed in there to support the shattered are, she doesn’t have much movement still with her arm still)

What I am hoping they will agree to:

The young couple will hopefully be moving into the lower level of my home so our family can provide 24/7 care and support. However, we have a multi-level house that requires major, immediate modifications:

Building an Accessible Lower-Level Bathroom: The downstairs area currently has no bathroom. We need to construct a full, wheelchair-accessible bathroom on a concrete floor (potentially adding a small extension or platform) so Angel can live completely on one level without dealing with stairs. This alone is estimated to cost at least $5,000.

Ramps and Transitions: We must build structural ramps for her to get through the front door of the house, and additional ramps to transition between the kitchen and the lower-level living area.

(They are young adults so they may want to find an accessible house or apartment to keep their independence even though I am trying to get them on board to letting me turn my entire lowest floor of my home into an apartment that will be their own private place, but with us literally upstairs if they need anything, which, unless I can convert that downstairs. They’re definitely not gonna get on board to moving back here nor will this house be accessible  enough to work for her) (also if they are going to find an accessible apartment, then she’s going to need full-time care so I’m hoping that they get enough donations to supplement Logan being able to stay with her and provide full-time care for her and the baby because both me and my husband Work, that’s why I want them to come move in here if I’m able to get the house more accessible cause then they can stay here for free, but you know how young adults are when they first get their independence they’re not in a hurry to give up that independence even after a major tragedy, which is completely understandable so I need to find them a place at least close to me so that I’m within a few blocks from my daughter, her boyfriend and their baby so I’m close if they want or need anything, and obviously even if they choose or are not currently able to move in here due to them, not being willing to give up their independence right before they have a new baby or especially if I’m not able to transform this downstairs area of our house into an accessible apartment ) 

Wheelchair-Accessible Transportation: Angel will require a specialized van to get to intensive inpatient rehabilitation, constant physical therapy, and high-risk prenatal and pediatric appointments.

Adaptive Parenting Supplies: We need to source and purchase specialized, accessible baby gear designed for a mother who cannot use her legs and has limited strength in her healing arm.

A Cash Reward for Justice: 

The police currently (still) have no leads (there is a video confirming it happened exactly how they described but unfortunately the video is so greeny they cannot make out the identity of the shooter) . We are (hoping to) set aside a portion of these funds as a cash reward for any verified information given to law enforcement that directly leads to a criminal indictment and charges against the person who did this.

Living and Medical Coverages: To provide a financial cushion so her boyfriend can focus entirely on her care and their baby during these first crucial months without the immediate panic of bills, and to cover specialized medications that insurance and CVS Caremark may deny. (She’s already need added to this as the beneficiary but GoFundMe me has it locked for some reason, and it literally told me that I got say who I am to the victim and which I already did and say who it is, which Debt would not be very safe to give her entire full identity. I’ll give them mine if anybody wants to verify that it is my daughter by all means call me that there’s a picture of who she is and a first name so that’s gotta be good enough. I’m not gonna give her last name though because they still haven’t caught the bad guy yet) (luckily she’s still in a safe medical  facility I’m really hoping that they catch this guy before she is released which they do not expect that to happen anytime in the next couple months as far as her getting out of the rehab rehabilitation because she’s still unable to get out of the bed at this point cause she’s still in so much pain probably because she’s got a whole baby sitting on her fractured spine)
