My name is Cristina, and I am writing from Vienna to share the story of my friend, Mohamed Rabhi Mustafa Al-Nazli, on his behalf. Below are his words:
"My name is Mohammed, and I am 18 years old from Gaza.
Before this war, I was a student with dreams of continuing my education and building a future for myself and my family. But everything has changed. Today, my only dream is to walk again.
During the war, I was shot in the spine by an Israeli sniper, leaving me partially paralyzed and dependent on a wheelchair. With limited access to medical care and ongoing attacks around us, my family and I were forced to flee repeatedly, moving more than 23 times and living in tents under extremely difficult conditions.
As food became increasingly scarce, I suffered severe malnutrition and lost a dangerous amount of weight. My injury, combined with months of inadequate nutrition and medical care, left my body extremely weak and made recovery even more difficult.
At the same time, my 69-year-old father was arrested and subjected to torture. The trauma and stress had a devastating impact on his health, and he later suffered a stroke. He is now unable to work.
The war has also taken members of my family. Six months ago, my only brother was killed. One month later, my sister and her five children were killed. The grief of these losses is something our family carries every day.
I have since been evacuated to Cairo, Egypt, where I am finally receiving medical treatment. However, my recovery is far from over. I need ongoing rehabilitation, physical therapy, medical appointments, medications, and further procedures to improve my condition.
Despite everything, I still have hope. Doctors believe that with consistent treatment and intensive rehabilitation, I may be able to regain more mobility and potentially even walk again. While there are no guarantees, this treatment gives me a chance to rebuild my life and regain some independence.
Today, neither my father nor I can work. With no stable source of income, my family is struggling to cover the costs of my treatment and basic living expenses.
How Your Support Will Help
Your donations will help cover:
• Medical treatment and specialist consultations
• Physical therapy and rehabilitation
• Medications and medical equipment
• Mobility aids and wheelchair-related needs
• Transportation to medical appointments
• Housing and daily living expenses during treatment
• Food and other basic necessities
Every contribution, no matter the amount, helps me continue my recovery and gives me the opportunity to work toward a more independent future.
Thank you for reading my story, supporting my family, and sharing this campaign with others. Your kindness gives me hope at a time when I need it most."
Currently, in Cairo, my close friend Hanin is taking care of Mohammed and his father. The money will be transferred from me to her bank account.
