Help Save 1895 HomeMade Ice Cream
We never imagined we would be in a position where we needed to ask for help, but today we are reaching out to our community with humble hearts.
To replace the freezer we need is 24k we are just asking to help offset these set backs.
About a year and a half ago, we opened 1895 HomeMade Ice Cream in downtown Shawnee. What started as a dream became a labor of love as we worked tirelessly to build this business from the ground up. With the help of bank loans, a small business grant, and countless hours of hard work, we restored a historic Main Street building, brought it up to code, and breathed new life into a piece of downtown Shawnee's history.
Every improvement, every repair, and every scoop served has represented our commitment to this community. We felt like we were finally gaining our footing when tragedy struck.
Recently, our display freezer caught fire and was completely destroyed. While we are grateful that no one was injured, the loss of this critical piece of equipment has placed a tremendous financial burden on our small business. Unfortunately, our insurance covers the building structure but not the equipment, and because we purchased our equipment used to save money during startup, there are no warranties available to help offset the cost.
As small business owners, we have always tried to solve problems on our own. Asking for help does not come easily, but so many friends, customers, and community members encouraged us to create this fundraiser that we decided to set aside our pride and give people an opportunity to help if they wish.
What makes this business especially meaningful is our partnership with South Central Industries of Shawnee, a nonprofit organization that serves adults with disabilities. We are proud to support their mission by providing employment opportunities and purchasing products from their supply store. When you support 1895 HomeMade Ice Cream, you are also supporting an organization that helps individuals gain independence, purpose, and opportunity.
The funds raised will go directly toward replacing the destroyed freezer and helping us continue serving our community without interruption. Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference. If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser with others is equally appreciated.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for believing in us, supporting local businesses, and helping us continue the dream we worked so hard to build.
With gratitude, 1895 HomeMade Ice cream family!
