There is something beautiful happening at Children’s Rock Ministry in rural Uganda. For 18 children, this is more than an orphanage. It is home. It is a place where children who have experienced difficult circumstances are being given something every child deserves—a safe place to grow, people who love them, an education, and the opportunity to dream about their future. Maria, who is now in her 70s, has devoted her life to caring for these children. Mike, one of her adopted children who was raised in the home himself, now works alongside her. He is the one doing much of the physical labor and helping carry the responsibility of building a future for the children who call this place home. And now, they are at an incredibly important point in their journey. Last year, God blessed Children’s Rock Ministry with land of their own. The vision has always been bigger than simply providing for the children one day at a time. The goal is to create a permanent, sustainable home where the children can grow up with stability and where the property itself can eventually help provide food, income, and opportunity. Recently, we reached a major milestone. The funds needed to move forward with the bank loan have been secured, and Maria and Mike have been working with the landlord to make the necessary arrangements. Once this process is completed, the ministry will be able to take another major step toward securing its permanent home. This is why sustainability matters so much. We don’t want Children’s Rock Ministry to have to continually depend on someone simply stepping in to meet the next urgent need. We want to help them build something that can continue supporting these children for years to come. A home. Land that can produce food. Opportunities to create income. Education for the children. And a foundation that can continue long after any one of us is gone. I have supported Children’s Rock Ministry for a long time, and I have seen the heart behind this work. These aren’t simply 18 children whose immediate needs need to be met. They are 18 lives with futures ahead of them. When we invest in a child, we don’t know how far that investment will travel. One child may become a teacher. Another may become a parent who raises their own children differently because they experienced love and stability. Another may become a leader in their community. The impact can continue from one generation to the next. We aren’t just helping Children’s Rock Ministry survive. We are helping them build a future. And I believe that future is worth investing in. ❤️
