We are reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for support for our 16-year-old son, Akmal, who has been diagnosed with a pineal gland tumour, a rare type of brain tumour located deep in the center of the brain. He is currently receiving treatment at the National Hospital, Kandy, Sri Lanka.

At just 16 years old, Akmal should be focused on his education, friends, and dreams for the future. Instead, he is facing a frightening medical journey filled with hospital visits, tests, specialist consultations, and upcoming treatments that may include surgery and long-term recovery.

This diagnosis has been emotionally overwhelming for Akmal and our entire family. While we are grateful for the medical care he is receiving, there are many additional expenses that are not fully covered. These include medications, diagnostic tests, travel to and from the hospital, accommodation near the hospital, special nutrition, and time away from work to care for him.

We are raising funds to help cover:

• Medical and hospital-related expenses not covered

• Medications, tests, and follow-up care

• Travel and accommodation near National Hospital, Kandy

• Daily living expenses during treatment and recovery

மிகவும் கனிந்த மனதுடன் எங்களது வேண்டுகோளை முன்வைக்கிறோம். எங்களது 16 வயது மகன் அக்மல், மூளையின் நடுப்பகுதியில் உள்ள பைனியல் கிளாண்ட் கட்டி (Pineal Gland Tumour) எனப்படும் அரிய வகை மூளை கட்டியால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார். தற்போது அவர் இலங்கை – கண்டி தேசிய வைத்தியசாலையில் சிகிச்சை பெற்று வருகிறார்.

இந்த வயதில் அவர் தனது கல்வி, நண்பர்கள் மற்றும் எதிர்கால கனவுகள் குறித்து சிந்திக்க வேண்டிய நேரம். ஆனால் இன்று அவர் பல பரிசோதனைகள், வைத்தியசாலை அனுமதிகள், நிபுணர் வைத்தியர்கள் மற்றும் சிகிச்சைகள் ஆகியவற்றை எதிர்கொண்டு போராடி வருகிறார். எதிர்காலத்தில் அறுவை சிகிச்சை மற்றும் நீண்டகால மீட்பு சிகிச்சையும் தேவைப்படலாம்.

இந்த நிலைமை அக்மலுக்கும் எங்கள் குடும்பத்திற்கும் மிகுந்த மன வேதனையை ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ளது. அரசாங்க வைத்தியசாலையில் சிகிச்சை கிடைத்தாலும், மருந்துகள், பரிசோதனைகள், கண்டிக்கு பயணம், தங்குமிடம், சிறப்பு உணவு மற்றும் சிகிச்சை காலத்தில் குடும்பத்தினர் வேலை விடுப்பு எடுப்பது போன்ற பல செலவுகள் எங்கள்மீது சுமையாக உள்ளன.
