We are raising funds for my cousin Mariam, a courageous 16 year old Iraqi girl from Baghdad, who is now in Amman, Jordan in an attempt to treat her cancer since 2023.

Mariam’s journey began with osteosarcoma, an aggressive form of bone cancer. After months of exhausting treatments, she endured the unthinkable - her right leg was amputated to save her life. Not long after, the cancer spread to her lungs.

Through all of this, Mariam has shown a resilience that humbles everyone around her. She laughs with her friends, leans on her faith, and continues to dream of the future she deserves. But while her spirit is unbreakable, the financial strain on her family has been overwhelming.

Mariam’s father passed away in Iraq in 2014 when she was just 7 years old, leaving her mother to raise her on her own. Now, as Mariam fights this illness, her mother is carrying not only the weight of worry but also the crushing cost of treatment, medications, and hospital care in Jordan, with no one close enough to lean on for support.

As her cousin, it is painful to watch them shoulder this burden alone. Our family in Canada is doing everything we can, but the need is greater than what we can manage on our own.

Every dollar raised here will go directly toward Mariam’s medical care - covering treatments, medications, and essential living expenses for her and her mother.

Mariam is more than her illness: she is a daughter, a friend, a young woman with dreams still ahead of her. With your support, we can give her the chance to keep fighting with hope and dignity.

نحن نطلق هذه الحملة لمساعدة مريم، فتاة شجاعة تبلغ من العمر 16 عامًا، تقيم في الأردن وتخوض معركة

قاسية مع مرض السرطان منذ عام 2023.

بدأت رحلة مريم مع مرض ساركوما العظم، وهو أحد أكثر أنواع سرطانات العظام عدوانية. وبعد أشهر طويلة من العلاجات المرهقة، اضطرت مريم إلى اتخاذ القرار الأصعب؛ بتر ساقها لإنقاذ حياتها. لكن لم يمض وقت طويل حتى انتشر المرض إلى رئتيها.

ورغم هذه الابتلاءات، ظلّت مريم مثالاً للصبر والإرادة التي تُلهم كل من حولها. فهي تضحك مع صديقاتها، تتمسّك بإيمانها، وتواصل الحلم بمستقبل تستحق أن تعيشه. لكن، في الوقت الذي تبقى فيه روحها صلبة لا تنكسر، تزداد الضغوط المالية على أسرتها إلى ما يفوق قدرتهم.

فقدت مريم والدها في عام 2014 توفاه الاجل تاركًا والدتها تتحمّل وحدها مسؤولية تربيتها ورعايتها. واليوم، بينما تكافح مريم هذا المرض، تجد والدتها نفسها محاصرة بين قلق لا يفارقها وتكاليف العلاج الباهظة، من أدوية ورعاية طبية وإقامة في المستشفى داخل الأردن.

نحن كعائلة نقيم في كندا، نبذل كل ما في وسعنا لدعمها، لكن الحاجة تفوق إمكانياتنا.

كل مساهمة في هذه الحملة ستذهب مباشرة لتغطية تكاليف علاج مريم، أدويتها، ورعايتها الأساسية هي ووالدتها.
