At just 14 years old, Logan is fighting a battle no child should ever have to face.

What started as what seemed like a simple virus quickly turned into something far more serious. After being sent home twice without any testing, his condition rapidly deteriorated. It wasn’t until a GP ordered urgent blood tests that the truth was uncovered — a severe staph infection had entered his bloodstream, causing sepsis and pushing him dangerously close to organ failure.

He was rushed into emergency surgery at Lismore Base Hospital, where doctors discovered an aggressive infection in his hip. Surgeons had to drain 3 large abscesses and even drill into his hip bone to try and stop it from spreading.

Since then, Logan has endured four surgeries so far, along with constant blood tests, strong antibiotics, and ongoing hospital stays. Despite everything, the infection continues to persist, with the abscess repeatedly filling and growing.

Now, his fight is being escalated. He has been transferred to Queensland Children’s Hospital, as doctors locally have done everything they can.

Through all of this, Logan has been in constant, severe pain, not just physically, but mentally and emotionally as well. No child should have to endure this level of suffering.

On top of the emotional toll, the financial strain is quickly building. Between ongoing treatments, travel, time off work, and even basic costs like hospital parking which alone is $120 every week, the pressure is overwhelming.
