At just 12 years old, Joseph is facing a battle no child should ever have to fight.

Joseph, from Lake City, Florida, was recently diagnosed with Burkitt lymphoma, a rare and extremely aggressive form of cancer. His life and his family’s lives changed almost overnight. He is now receiving treatment at UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital in Gainesville, where his family is standing beside him every step of the way.

Joseph’s story has always been one of family, perseverance, and love.

When Joseph was only four years old, he and his one year old baby brother were taken in by their aunt and uncle during an incredibly difficult period in their young lives. They opened their home and hearts to these two boys and have raised and loved them as their own ever since.

Now, this family needs people to rally around them.

Cancer doesn’t only affect the person receiving treatment. Hospital stays, appointments, transportation between Lake City and Gainesville, meals away from home, missed work, and the countless unexpected expenses associated with caring for a seriously ill child can quickly place an enormous burden on a family.

We have established a goal of $25,000 to help Joseph’s family through the months ahead.

Funds raised will help with treatment-related expenses, transportation and travel, meals during hospital stays and appointments, lost income, household expenses, and other unexpected costs associated with Joseph’s care.

Our hope is simple: to relieve some of the financial pressure on this family so they can concentrate on what matters most—helping Joseph fight, heal, and come home healthy.
