Help 12-Week-Old Pup Frank Fight for His Life
Donation protected
Our beloved puppy Frank is a happy and loveable boy. He's an energetic fluff ball who loves to give kisses and snuggles.
Suddenly, Frank started to limp on the morning of October 23, 2022. Throughout the day, it progressively got worse. We took him to the Vet the next morning, where they ran blood tests and examined him. While looking at him, they stated that he had a severe chronic ear infection, and he showed no signs of it or letting on that his ears were bothering him. After, we took him home and started the ear treatments right away. Frank's condition rapidly worsened throughout the night (Monday). He couldn't stand, eat, drink water or even go to the bathroom, and Frank would cry and yelp when he moved. Tuesday morning, we brought him back to the Vet, and the blood results were in, stating that his white blood cells were extremely high. We did x-rays and eventually got sent to the emergency Vet clinic two cities away.
While in emergency, upon examination, they were worried about more severe infections/conditions. They thought possibly meningitis, bone cancer or arthritis. They needed to keep Frank for 24 hours to run tests and monitor Frank's condition as Frank was rapidly deteriorating.
Frank had a Spinal Tap, Joint Tap, and more blood tests and was seen by a neurologist and dermatologist. Finally, after all the test results, our 12-week-old puppy was diagnosed with Immune-Mediated Polyarthritis, Bacterial Infection, and UTI. So many questions run through our heads, from 'How does a 12-week-old pup get arthritis?' to 'How are we going to afford this lengthy Vet Hospital bill and stay?' Puppies can get arthritis; although it is rare, it has happened.
Franks Hospital stay is almost a week long. He is in great hands and well cared for, but we want our baby home. The kids and ourselves miss him terribly. Frank will be on medication for life to manage the pain and inflammation of the Arthritis. We are asking for lots of prayers for him and would be eternally grateful for any donation to help offset this substantial hospital and Vet bills that we did not expect to get only three weeks after we got him. Also, to help start Frank's healing journey when he gets home, we can help him have a comfortable, painless recovery.
Thank you in advance from the bottom of our hearts.
