Chase with rare brain cancer. Tony & Kristina son

Donation protected
Chase is my 12 year old nephew who lives in LeMars Iowa, and we are trying to help get the word out and ask for help for his medical expenses. Chase has a rare brain cancer called Astrocytoma, which caused a glicoma brain tumor. They are going to try to remove the tumor and other cancer cells on the 26th. He will also be at the hospital on the 25th to see if the tumor grew or if there are anymore spots. His surgeon felt he could remove it all without causing chase any more problems or damage. This is a very rare cancer and tumor for a child to have. It is really only seen in adults. If they do remove it then they would hold off on chemo because if they get it all, then he won't need it. If they don't get it all, then they will have to make weekly trips for chemo, and the hospital is 4 hours away! The cancer has what they call "feet", so they are not confident they can get it all. They still have to meet the genetics doctors because they want to see if he has a gene that is prone to cancer. He will have a part of his skull removed and replaced with titanium after the surgery. Money will be a financial issue due to loss wages, and using up a lot of vacation time. They have to come up with the money for gas and due to covid, it will take the insurance company an extended amount of time to reimburse them. With the hospital being 4 hours away, they will be paying a lot of expenses in gas. They also have hotel, food, and parking fees they will need to pay, along with anything else that comes up. Insurance reimburses them after they turn in sheets signed by the doctor. They cannot get help from the Ronald Mcdonald house, because you have to be a patient that has long consecutive stays. With the need being so high, they cannot get help there. They do get a mayo rate at hotels but it is still 100$ a night.

This is a very emotional time for our family, and we need help with the financial burdens that come along with this. If you are able to, please make a donation to help us. Please share this so we can reach to more people.
