All attend King Solomon Seed Secondary School in Kagadi district, western Uganda. Kagadi is a challenging place to thrive. Kagadi has been the subject of disturbing reports of cannibalism, fear, and neglect, but also an area where children desperately need hope, education, and opportunity.
Despite the shocking stories, we know one thing for sure: children are the real victims here. Many have never received an education. Teachers sent to the area often abandon their posts because of fear and stigma.
Our CEO, Joseph Bumpenje, has been contracted to be a teacher in King Solomon Seed Secondary School, where he is facing seriously challenging conditions to educate these children. Violence, teen pregnancies, misogyny, and misunderstandings about the value of education are all big barriers in preventing the youth of Kagadi from dreaming of a better future.
But our 12 students, each with a unique, special, and challenging story all show there is a powerful desire to thrive.
We need $720 to pay for these students' exams. The community in the ground has already raised $360. We appeal to the international community to help us raise $360 to finance the exam fees so the students can take and pass their exams, so they may continue their education. Each student´s exam, their ticket to a future education, costs $60.
For just $10 you can help contribute to the shining future of a better Uganda.
