We are a group of 12 award-winning high school band students who were selected to participate in the UCF Rising Knights Honor Band, one of the most prestigious honor festivals for top high-school musicians in Florida. Being chosen for this event is a huge accomplishment, and we are incredibly grateful for the opportunity.

However, the costs of attending are far beyond what many of us can afford. Since the festival is off-campus, we must cover bus transportation, hotel rooms, meals, and the festival participation fee. With 12 students attending, the total cost adds up quickly.

Most of us are also seniors, and as many people know, senior year is already extremely expensive, college applications, testing fees, graduation expenses, and senior activities all pile up. Adding this trip on top of everything else makes it financially overwhelming for many of our families.

This honor festival is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for us to grow as musicians, learn from incredible educators, and represent our school at a statewide level. We truly want to go, but we simply cannot make it possible without help.
