Help 11-Year-Old Stephen Recover from Cancer and Rebuild Life
My name is Jennie, and I’m a grandmother writing with a heart full of hope and deep gratitude that my grandson is still alive today.
In 2021, just before his 7th birthday, my grandson Stephen was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a rare and aggressive childhood cancer. His little body endured grueling treatments ,chemotherapy, surgeries, long hospital stays, and side effects that no child should ever have to suffer.
Despite all of this, Stephen is still here with us. That alone is a miracle. He wakes up every day with determination, energy, and a bright smile. He rides his bike, exercises daily, and even races go-karts when he has the strength ,proving to us again and again just how strong he is.
But behind Stephen’s courage is a family that has been financially devastated by this journey.
During the COVID-19 lockdowns in mainland China, Stephen’s parents faced unimaginable obstacles. Hospitals were under extreme pressure, travel was restricted, and daily life became a constant struggle. Despite all this, they refused to give up on their son.
They borrowed nearly ¥1,000,000 (about $140,000 USD) to pay for cancer treatment ,putting everything on the line to save their child. Then came another blow: both parents lost their jobs during the pandemic’s economic collapse. Without income, they could no longer keep up with the rising debts and the basic cost of living.
Today, the family still owes ¥600,000 (~$84,000 USD). They are struggling just to afford food, rent, and daily essentials. I have been doing all I can as a grandmother to help support them, but my resources are very limited.
That’s why I’m turning to you ,to kind-hearted people who believe in the strength of children and the power of community.
Your donation will help us:
• Repay remaining medical debts.
• Support Stephen’s continued recovery and medical needs
