Please help 10 year old Abdirahman

Firstly, Thank you for being here. 

Let me tell you about a beautiful young boy with so much resilience and courage, no matter the pain and the struggles life has thrown his way, he still manages to smile through it all, a truly remarkable boy, and this is his story. 

Abdirahman Mohamoud is a 10-year old boy from a nomadic family the eldest child of 5. His condition deteriorated two months ago when his parents took him to the local doctor after he complained of a tummy ache. The doctors there couldn't diagnose or treat Abdirahman and he wasn't getting any better. 

He was then taken to the main hospital 200km away, he was kept there for several days, after a lot of effort by the doctors they immediately knew something serious was wrong with young Abdirahman and referred his parents to a hospital in Mogadishu a plane ride away. Abdirahman's parents are a poor nomadic family and had almost given up hope in ever seeing their little boy healthy again. By the grace of God, everyone came together to pay for the flights and medical bills. Abdirahman was rushed to Mogadishu and received all kinds of testing, blood tests, scans, etc.

After more than a week in the hospital, doctors have now concluded Abdirahman has Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) which is a blood cancer. It happens when young abnormal white blood cells called blasts (leukemia cells) begin to fill up the bone marrow preventing normal blood production.

Unfortunately, for over two months this child has been in and out of hospitals across regions with no end in sight. If all goes well and we raise enough funds he will be taken to a specialized hospital in Istanbul Turkey, His case is complex and challenging but with the right treatment, he has a chance of survival.  Abdirahman needs a type of bone transplant that uses stem cells taken from his younger sibling who will accompany him to Turkey.

Abdirahman is a survivor and hasn't given up the fight he has defied all odds and battled through it. Unfortunately, with the type of cancer he has, it can only be treated abroad which is why we have set up this page pleading for help with anyone that can. We don't want to give up on Abdirahman we want to raise enough funds to take him to Turkey and hope that doctors there can finally help him. We know his condition is complex and he needs the best care he can get.

As you can imagine, this treatment is expensive, and Abdirahman and his family could use all of the financial support they can get.
