It's a love story, but it's also a business start-up... we're opening a food truck! We've come an incredible distance from meeting for the first time at work in a restaurant, to falling in love, to planning our mutual dream for two years, to actually buying a 14.7' custom-built kitchen trailer fit for an efficient operation. We have a combined 30 years of experience in the restaurant industry. We love to rock the kitchen, and when we work together, we make one amazing, fast, organized, and well-built machine. Marco has cooked countless free meals for the community out of his own pocket. Alissa is on a mission every day to eat and share healthy and delicious creations with her loved ones. We want to express our expertise, skill set, work ethic, and integrity, with our own hands, in our own kitchen.
We live in a remote desert community in Southern California on the Salton Sea. Our community is alive with art and tourism, and everyone is excited for us to open. We've never been more confident about a more complex plan, and that's why we are spending both of our life savings on not just the trailer but equipment, permits, business insurance, licensing, rent to park the trailer, loan payments, and a slew of miscellaneous expenses. Having a newborn business is expensive! We need $6,300 more than we initially needed with tariffs in effect. The tariffs have greatly affected the price of steel, and we need all stainless steel kitchen equipment to meet code. Also, the food truck itself is made of steel, so the cost of that went up too. We had all expenses involved in opening accounted for before the tariffs, and now we don't. Please, it's safe to believe in us. Give what you can to help us realize our dream. We're ready in every single other way to manage, support, and grow this love child; we just need one last push.
