HELLION: EPISODE 2

Donation protected

Hi, I'm Grant Newkirk and I'm raising money to make Episode 2 of Hellion, an independent animation. We've put together a pilot in the hopes that we can earn some money and make more.

Hellion is a passion project between me and the creator, Jacob "Alex" Harold. We want to continue the series in its entirety, and as of right now, we're trying to make Episode 2.

We want to fund this project by November 1st, 2023.

Follow us on Twitter for news and updates! @HellionShow

The money donated to this fundraiser will be split between animators, background artists, voice talents, and musicians.

The $9,999 will be split as follows:
  • $7,000 towards animation (animators, storyboarding, cleanup, coloring)
  • $1,200 towards voice talent (voice cast for the animation)
  • $2,000 towards background artists (background art for any given scene)
  • $799 towards musicians (people who will produce the original soundtrack for the episode)

Me and Alex will work towards production on the back end: Sound mixing, foley, organizing teams for the project, editing, and any other loose ends that need to be worked on.

I was responsible for sound mixing in the pilot, and have experience mixing sound for various projects I've worked on throughout the years. I was also responsible for casting, writing, and producing.

Alex, the creator of Hellion, was responsible for promotional art and production management, as well as helping me write the initial scripts.

Me and Alex will also not receive any of the fundraising money unless we go over our estimated $9,999 budget, whereafter we will pay ourselves for the work we've put into the project. The excess fundraising money will also go towards paying our teams to make the best animation they can, increasing their shares proportionately.

We also want to scale things up, make the episode more bombastic and action-packed, as well as increase the fidelity of the animation. Excess funding will help us hire more animators and background artists. This means higher production value, and more complex visuals in Episode 2!

Episode 1 was a sampler, something we funded independently in the hopes that we could entertain some people and get them interested in the series. We both want to continue working on the show! It's a passion project that we want to make into a full series eventually, something people will get hooked on and excited for every subsequent episode!

To do that, we need funding.

The funds will go towards animators, background artists, voice talent, musicians, and the production crew as we work towards another episode. To that end, we also want to scale things up, make the episode more bombastic and action-packed, as well as increase the fidelity of the animation.

Episode 2 would have more artists and animators working on it, so any donations would be put towards them as well as the rest of the crew. Me and Alex would head the project, just like we did for Episode 1, to make sure things go as smoothly as possible.

Alex came to me wanting me to write down his ideas and format them into episodes for a series. We've been working on the project for a while now, bouncing ideas back and forth, writing out the scripts and what we'd want future episodes to be. What started as a small idea quickly snowballed into something bigger, and we're proud of what we've created. We've been writing future episodes over the past year or so and are excited to put them into production!
