Helimah Wangui Muchiri Medical and Funeral Fund

Donation protected
Hello Ladies and Gentlemen, family, and friends. My name is Dr. Andrew Kamau Mwangi, on behalf of the Muchiri and Runana families and the committee in charge of the Helimah Wangui Muchiri Medical and Funeral Fundraiser and am fundraising because my cousin Helimah has passed on to glory after suffering complications of childbirth.

I want to take this opportunity and introduce to you my cousin Helimah who was known as a caring mother, a compassionate wife, a wonderful daughter, a loving sibling, a reliable cousin, a trustworthy colleague, and a faithful church member. Helimah was a beautiful soul who has left behind a fantastic legacy for humanity by having invested her time and energy in her family, friends, and community.
She touched every person she encountered and will be dearly and fondly missed.

On 12th June, (her birthday), Helimah and Pius Muchiri were expecting their fifth child when Helimah suddenly developed a sudden hemorrhage on her lower abdomen which resulted in her admission to Nairobi hospital and the doctors there having to perform an emergency operation to save her life and that of the unborn baby who she had been carrying for 37 weeks. She however suffered from postpartum hemorrhage leading to her admission to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) where she spent the last 21 days of her life in a coma.

Miraculously, the baby, Amazing-Zoe, a beautiful girl just like her mother was saved by a whisker, also ending up in ICU for newborn babies. We thank God that Amazing-Zoe is now at home with her four elder siblings.

Helimah fought valiantly in the ICU for 20 days and was making a miraculous recovery being on a ventilator and undergoing continuous dialysis. On Friday, July 1st she underwent additional surgery to remove blood clots that had developed in her abdomen, which led to additional hemorrhaging. Unfortunately, Helimah passed away on Saturday, July 2nd at 14:11 (EST).

Helimah leaves behind a newborn daughter and four other siblings all under the age of 12. She also leaves behind her beloved husband Pius Muchiri.

The medical bill, on the other hand, has been rapidly escalated by the day, more than extinguishing her entire medical cover. The hospital bill stands at Kshs. 10 million (US$ 100,000). The family and friends of Helimah would like to help her husband offset these enormous costs. We are kindly requesting you contribute any amount you can. Any amount will go a long way, be it $5 or $5,000. Please help us do this expeditiously.
