We are creating this page as our beautiful Mum had a fall causing multiple brain bleeds resulting in her needing a craniotomy ( brain surgery ) and will be unable to work due to brain injury/damage as a result of the massive head trauma and lots of physical issues that come with it.
3 words to describe our Mum; Incredibly kind, selfless and brave!
On the 4th of September our Mum had a fall, was rushed to the emergency and they found in the scans that she had multiple life threatening bilateral brain bleeds and skull fractures. Normally someone with these severe brain bleeds would have a craniotomy (brain surgery) immediately, unfortunately Mum is on blood thinners as she has 3 heart conditions that caused her to have a stroke a few years ago so they could not operate straight away as she most certainly would have bled out & passed during the surgery. The Alfred Neurosurgeons had to wait 4 whole days, and had their fingers crossed she’d survive that time.. they honestly didn’t think she would make it to surgery as she was bleeding out in her brain which was also pushing her brain out of centre but they absolutely had no choice. She made it to surgery and survived surgery, however not without complications unfortunately post surgery also causing more cognitive deterioration.
We are so very blessed to have our beautiful Mama still here with us and be able to still wrap our arms around her but we aren’t out of the woods yet. Mum will undertake rehabilitation for her brain injury/damage and physical complications also.
Our Mama is a very highly regarded professional within her social work field and is forever helping others. Unfortunately she isn’t able to work and we aren’t sure when or if she will be able to therefore leaving her with a massive financial burden of not earning any income to live.
Our Mama is an angel walking this earth, mother Theresa if you will. She has been through more than most and still shines her bright light on anyone that encounters her and she absolutely deserves the world’s generosity just as she has for others in need her whole life, any donation big or small is so helpful to our beautiful Mum.
