Dear Everyone,
As many of you will know, Helen is currently in the intensive care unit at the CHUV in Lausanne. She has been diagnosed with a nervous system illness called Guillain-Barré syndrome. To keep her comfortable and give her body time to focus on healing, she is currently sedated, but stable.
Current situation
Due to the current pandemic, no one, including Steph, Seb and Thierry, is able to visit. So, there is not a great deal any of us can do to improve her immediate well-being.
At this time, there is no prediction for when she will leave hospital, or how long recovery will take, but doctors are anticipating up to a year.
What we can do
However, there is something we can do. Helen has always wanted a beautiful garden, with a patio, a pergola and lots of flowers.
Steph has started to clear a piece of land by the house and Thierry has organised some wood. Next they will need materials, plants and, once companies are able to come to site, help to create an accessible, relaxing outdoor space for Helen to recuperate in.
We all know Helen as such an energetic and active part of our community. It is hard to imagine her not rushing around and getting involved.
We would like your help to create this space for her to look forward to on her return from hospital and, in this way, we can all contribute and support Steph in this project, if even a little.

Over the years, Helen has had an impact on hundreds of people. There is no way we can directly contact them all. Please do pass this on to anyone you think might want to know or contribute.
Where will the money go?
All the money raised on this platform will go straight to Steph, Seb and Thierry to put into the Garden Project, and possibly other supplies that Helen might need or appreciate to help with her recovery.
We will do our best to keep you updated with progress.
You should know that about 7.9% (plus 0.50chf per transaction) will go to pay for this platform and the financial fees associated with handling money in Switzerland. This is the best we have been able to find.
