Helene Walsh Medical Fund

Hey guys!  I'm trying to help my mom out with her medical expenses.  

Many of you know she's been having issues with her leg for a long time.  For the last 2+ years she has had a wound on her leg that won't heal.  She has been to numerous doctors, tried various medications, biopsies, etc. with no answers.  

Through an unrelated medical issue she finally found Dr. Machler!  He has diagnosed her with a rare condition called Pyoderma-gangrenosum (PG for short).  This is an autoimmune disorder which explains why she has not been able to heal this wound.    

Doctors have been using treatments and medications not covered by insurance since they are not typically used for this specific diagnosis - which of course she has to pay for (though the doctor has done as much as he possibly can with samples etc.).  This has really taken a toll on her finances.  

Her next step, and probably last hope, is to fly to Miami to see a top doc in this field for a week long hospital stay.  She will undergo intense nonstop treatment and we are praying that this will finally help her heal.   She is scheduled to fly out on December 5th.   

I'm hoping to raise some money to assist in all the medical bills she will incur during this hospital stay and to help alleviate all the money she puts out each month for wound care supplies and past medical bills.  Any donation would be appreciated.  

She's probably gonna kill me for this, but who cares...She's a great person and would do ANYTHING for anyone if she could.  My main goal is for her to get back to a normal, healthy life and be able to do all the things she wants physically.  This donation would simply help the mental and financial stress she is also enduring.
