With deep sadness, we announce that our beloved John Tillery passed away on March 10th from complications due to COVID-19. Our hearts are broken.
John Tillery, husband, father, granddad (Pop Pop), great granddad, brother, nephew, father-in-law, church trustee, and friend, should still be here. He was 85 years old, an Air Force veteran and had multiple underlying health conditions. Unfortunately, he could not get a COVID vaccine in time.
This pandemic is not over. As we prepare to lay John to rest, his grieving wife Helena is still battling COVID. She and the family need your help to cover funeral costs, medical bills, and continuing health care costs when her Medicare coverage steeply declines. 15 days from now, Medicare will only cover 20% of Helena’s time in the in-patient rehab center where she is currently receiving around-the-clock treatment. Additionally, John and Helena had been supporting other family members who are now housing insecure.
The family’s goal is to raise $30,000 to help cover the costs outlined above and provide financial stability once Helena is released from care. She – and the rest of us – are moving forward with hope and faith.
Please give generously; any amount you can contribute will be put to good use and received with profound gratitude. A memorial service is being planned and we will share details shortly. We will also share periodic updates.
Thank you! With love and grace, The Tillery Family
