Helen Wheels be mobile in their time if need

Hi I’m Mick the owner of Cafe On. If you don’t know them already (most people do) this is Helen Wheels, an icon in the brisbane lgbtqia plus and drag community. They recently posted to their instagram story that their funding has run out and they have lost their ability not only to come to gigs but to travel out into the community and won’t receive funding again for 3 months! We all went through it the last few years and each and everyone of us know what isolation feels like. This person goes above and beyond to bring every single person around them joy, i and fluid beauty bar and Landon photography have the honour of having them at our upcoming event with Gabriella Labucci at the Wickham hotel in brisbane. We will arrange transport too and from this gig but we’re asking our community if together we could help them bring light to so many others and lift them up in their time of need. It takes strength to ask for help, it takes strength to be such a beautiful and kind person and it takes honour to be there when someone you know or even don’t know needs you. Skip your next coffee at my cafe, any person who comes in and shows they donated even if it’s just a tenner you can have a free regular coffee on me as a thank you for supporting such an amazing human. We love yah Helen be proud of who you are and what you do just as we are proud of you. Travel costs for 3 months is about 10k we know this is a lot but it’s the difference between being isolated and being able to see people and do what they love.
