Helen Koch and her Biewer Terriers

Helen Koch lived on Pine Island, FL. She lost everything she own except her Biewer Terriers pups. All they have is what they were wearing and one bag of dog food. Here is what Helen wrote about their experience.

We are all safe on the mainland! Sheltering at Fort Myers high school waiting on family to come get us in a couple of days. Pups had a crazy helicopter rescue today... they all were in cages strapped to the outside of the helicopter!!!!!! If my stress level wasn't high enough, imagine how I felt seeing my babies out there with such frightened expressions! Although our losses are astronomical, to see these babies here safe and happy again makes me feel like the richest person in the world! NY Times News covered the story of the 19 dogs who received their very own personal rescue operation off of Pine Island. Please continue to say prayers for all who couldn't leave and all who were affected by this horrific storm.
