I am fundraising for a friend Helen.

Helen is in her early 40s and has been living in the same flat in London for many years. Tragically, she was recently diagnosed with metastatic cancer and has just started receiving treatment. The chemotherapy has left her very weak, and profoundly immuno-compromised. Because of this, between visits to the hospital, she is sheltering at home with her mum.

As if this wasn't enough, Helen just learned from the letting agency that her landlord is putting up the rent by £400/month even though they know she has cancer. They say they have no choice because of the recent hike in interest rates.

Helen simply cant afford this, as she isn't able to work at the moment.

If she can't raise the money to cover the increase, she will have to move out while receiving chemotherapy. She has no place to go. And this would be unimaginably distressing for her and would further compromise her health.

I am therefore urgently trying to raise the extra £400 per month she need to cover 12 months of rent. Any extra will go towards her rental costs and will enable her to save a little for the months and years ahead.

It would be wonderful if you could help me in this.

I have already paid the £400 for May-June, and have promised Helen that I will pay for June and July.

I am asking for help to raise an additional £3200 for the next 9 months.
