Congratulations to the recipients of the Helen Gonsalves Scholarship Award for school year 2019-2020
On behalf of Ella’s family and the Cape Verdean Club we would like to thank all of our generous and caring donors and supporters of the Helen Gonsalves Scholarship Fund. As you know the scholarship was established in 2016 in honor of Ella and to memorialize her many years of community service and commitment to the Cape Verdean Club. This scholarship embodies her belief in education and her vision, and desire to help students financially to achieve their educational goals as they move on to higher education.
This year we are happy to announce that we were able to raise funding for the scholarships awards for the school year 2019-2020 all due to the benevolence of our charitable donors. On August 17, 2019, at 8:00 pm at the Cape Verdean Club, we presented each student with a check for $1000.00! These outstanding students presented with excellence in their personal qualities as well as in their academic abilities.
