Helen and Kids Fire Recovery Fund

Early this morning my daughter Helen awoke to a popping sound followed by a large battery exploding in flames( it was a car starter jump box). It quickly ignited the surrounding items in her bedroom. Her boyfriend grabbed her baby boy, Michael, while Helen got the other kids out and called 911.


Although the damage was mostly confined to the bedroom, there's smoke damage throughout the apartment. In addition most of the items in her bedroom, including the baby's things, the rent money that Helen had pulled out over the weekend which was in her purse were a complete loss.

My daughter is a wonderful, loving working mother raising my 4 grandkids in difficult circumstances. She's had to overcome multiple challenges and struggled to pull herself up in the face of adversity, luckily she has the support of family and friends. This unfortunate event has threatened her ability to stand up and move forward. I am unfortunately not in a position to help her alone. I'm asking for anyone's support in helping my daughter weather this storm. Any contribution that you can make to help her cover rent, replace the items she's lost, and clean the items that have been damaged would be most appreciated.
