Hi friends,
My name is Savannah Hendricks. I’m the wife of Brandon, a mom to our sweet son Samuel, and a nurse who has found deep purpose in caring for others. Right now, though, I find myself in a season where I’m the one in need of care—and I’m reaching out with a humble heart to ask for your support.
I’m a two-time kidney transplant recipient. My first transplant was in 2014 from my wonderful Dad and my second in 2020 from my very selfless cousin. Now, just a few short years later, I’m in need of a third transplant. Due to my health, I’ve been unable to work since 2023, and I won’t be able to return to nursing until at least six months after surgery. Being away from my God given purpose of nursing has been incredibly hard—nursing isn’t just what I do, it’s part of who I am. Still, we’re holding tightly to hope, and our faith is stronger than ever.
God has walked with us every step of the way. We’ve felt His presence through the kindness of our community, through answered prayers, and through moments of peace that came exactly when we needed them. We’re so grateful for every bit of love and encouragement we’ve received.
Up until now, we’ve stretched Brandon’s income as far as we could. He’s doing everything he can—working two jobs, serving in the military and pastoring full-time—so I can focus on staying as healthy as possible. But after nearly two years without my income, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to keep up, especially as we prepare for the financial strain of another transplant.
That’s why we’re reaching out for help now. The funds we raise will go directly toward supporting our journey toward transplant—including travel to and from South Carolina for the surgery and follow-up care, as well as the many out-of-pocket medical expenses that come with a procedure like this. Just as importantly, your support will also help us care for and financially support our living donor. We want to ensure that the incredible person who is stepping forward to give this life-changing gift doesn’t have to carry the weight of travel, lodging, or time away from work on their own. Every donation helps lighten the load for both our family and the generous heart helping to save my life.
This isn’t an easy ask—but we believe in the power of community, and we’ve seen how even the smallest acts of support can carry us through. Our prayer is that with help, we can focus on what matters most: healing, being together as a family, and looking ahead to the day I can return to the work I love so dearly.
One day, when we’re through this and standing on the other side, we’re committed to paying it forward—to supporting someone else walking a similar road.
If you feel led to give, to pray, or simply to share our story, please know how deeply grateful we are. Your kindness means more than words can express.
With love and sincere thanks,
Savannah, Brandon & Samuel Hendricks
