On Friday, January 27th our dear friend Adam Heit was suddenly hit with a blinding headache, followed by weakness, dizziness, inability to stand and slurred speech. He was taken by ambulance to Cedar Hospital where they found a large bleed in his cerebellum. He was then rushed to Dixie Regional to be seen by a Neurosurgeon. After exams, labs, and CT scans it was determined that no surgery was the best option. Bleeds such as these will usually heal on their own. Unfortunately, whatever damage the bleed caused was already done. He was in the Dixie Regional ICU for 15 days. The doctors are hoping for a full recovery but have warned Adam and his family that it will be a "long haul". He will have to relearn some basic motor functions meaning he is out of work for at least the next few months and he is the family's main source of income.
Adam has had a great attitude and a wonderful sense of humor. He is grateful to finally be in rehab and get to work!
This will be a long recovery. Any help to ease the financial burdens of medical bills, travel expenses and everyday living expenses during his recovery would be greatly appreciated.
