More than ever, our world is interconnected. The desire to experience other cultures and compassionately understand the world from a different perspective has been with me long before college. As a teenager, I had the opportunity to serve with other youth on mission trips to Arizona helping Native Americans and in Louisiana helping victims of Hurricane Katrina. In addition, I was blessed to have experienced Greece, Turkey and Italy in the summer of 2009 with my late grandmother. As a lifelong educator, “Grandmama” had passion for learning and she inspires me to make a difference in the world!
WHY I NEED YOUR HELP
During freshman orientation at the University of Georgia, I became aware of the UGA study abroad program and the tremendous benefits it would bring to my passion for learning a second language and understanding other cultures. During the past few years, I have saved money received at Christmas, worked part time jobs, applied for educational scholarships and made every effort to pay for college. The hard work and efforts have enabled me to pay for my undergraduate degree and fund part of the cost to participate in the study abroad program. However, I am running out of time and falling short of making my dream a reality. I need your help to complete this goal. Please consider making a donation to help keep my dream alive.
PAYING IT FORWARD - NOW & FOREVER
I have experienced firsthand the need to serve others and pay it forward. As a way of paying forward your generosity now, I will be donating 5% of the proceeds to the Honduras Outreach, Inc. (HOI) until the goal is met. Once the goal is met, 100% of the proceeds over the net goal will be donated to HOI.
Honduras Outreach, Inc. is a faith-based, nondenominational organization that is dedicated to improving the quality of life for the people of Honduras. This organization has over fifty mission trips to Honduras annually and my family has been involved with this mission for many years. What this organization is doing for the people of Honduras is near and dear to my heart.
