Dear Family, Friend, & Community,
For those of you that do not know our mom Heidi, she is a loving, caring, nurturing mother, a devoted wife, and a compassionate advocate for health and happiness in the lives of those she meets throughout her community. Our mother has made it her passion and soul’s purpose to breathe life into all those that are so lucky to come into connection with her. From raising her children, caring for her adult disabled daughter, and being a public heath figure in her community she has poured her heart and mind into educating herself, sharing her knowledge, and being an example of what utmost physical, mental, and emotional health is to be at its highest good.
That is why it comes as a shock to us, her family and children, that she herself has been diagnosed with a Skull Based Brain Tumor. Because of the location of the tumor a specific and more in-depth diagnosis of the tumor itself cannot be confirmed until surgery has been performed and further testing is done. Heidi and her husband are working closely with UCSF and their neurosurgical team for treatment options and outcomes, however at this point part of the tumor is and will remain inoperable. Treatment of Skull Based Brain Tumors is challenging in that the tumor is too close to and/or has grown into critical nerves and blood vessels in the brain, head, neck, and spinal cord making this process of recovery a lengthy and uncertain one.
For those of you that do know our mom you know her zest for seeking health and healing through alternative means. Because of this and the inoperable nature of part of the tumor it is essential that alternative and holistic avenues of treatment be integrated into her overall care in addition to her medical treatment through UCSF. She has already had encouraging results with self-administered alternative treatments and is in need of propmt further professional and closely monitored intervention and care. Our parents have researched and consulted with various alternative medicine clinics both inpatient and outpatient across and even outside the U.S. from New York to Mexico to integrate the vary best of options out there for providing her with healing and recovery. Treatment will be costly and the success of obtaining this urgent treatment will be predicated on our family's effort of gather funds.
We are asking for help to raise the funds necessary for life saving treatment.
Our mom is confident that with the right care and treatment she can make a complete recovery. She wants to be an example to her family, friends, and community that there is another way and that even this can be overcome. She wants you to be apart of her success story just as she has committed herself to encouraging others in creating their own success story.
She will take all the well wishes, healing thoughts, prayers, and positive energy she can get!
Thank you so very much for your love, care, and support.
