Heidi's Fight, Our Support - Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer

Donation protected
Dear Friends, Family, and Kind-Hearted Strangers,

On the 7th of April, after weeks of tests, scans, and procedures, our beautiful friend Heidi received the devastating news that she has Stage IV Ovarian Cancer (High Grade Serous Carcinoma). This diagnosis came with very little warning and has completely turned her world on its head. Heidi's ovarian cancer has spread to her bowel, abdomen lining, both ovaries and fallopian tubes, liver and lungs.

Heidi lives in Sydney, is 35 and has been with her partner Chad for over 13 years. They have built a full, happy life together and have a beautiful 2 year old named Dallas and Nash the Aussie Bulldog.

To know Heidi is to love her, and her superpower is bringing people together, whether its having a few people around for a meal (exceptionally styled and thoughtfully curated, obviously), organising a friend's baby shower (including hosting at her home), or as part of her job organising high profile events attended by hundreds. Heidi loves the chance to create memories with people and show her love through hospitality, and she’s also always up for a good time.

We know over the years she has created a wonderful, vibrant community of people from all walks of life around her, and we're calling on this community now to help get her and her family through this.

Heidi began her cancer treatment on the 10th April with a first round of chemotherapy at the Chris O'Brien Lifehouse cancer hospital. She is understandably experiencing the side effects that go hand in hand with the chemo; pain, fatigue, aches and nausea. Despite this, she is in high spirits; Heidi knows what she's facing and is going to fight with everything she has.

While Heidi's focus is on fighting this cancer, ours is on supporting her and her partner Chad as they navigate through the biggest challenge they will ever have to face. While there are lots of things we cannot do for them, we can help financially support during this time. There are so many unknowns about the treatment journey ahead, but they have been told that the journey will be a long one. With their doctor also stating ‘having cancer is really expensive’, which they are now discovering is true.

As both Heidi and Chad cannot work at the moment, every donation, big or small, will go directly to Heidi to take money off her list of worries, and keep her focus, and Chad’s, firmly on getting her the best care possible and allowing time for rest and healing.

We all know that Heidi herself would never ask for help, however the club of people that love Heidi is vast, full of people grateful to know her, and that everyone will want to show their support, so from the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
