Our sister, Heidi, a 43-year old mother of 6 children, has been diagnosed with Stage 3 Rectal Cancer and is currently undergoing chemotherapy and radiation therapy. The diagnosis was a surprise for her family and all of us. You hear the word CANCER, and your whole world stops. Then your mind goes to all the things that could happen. There have been a lot of tears while wondering what her life will look like, or if she will beat this cancer at all. Thankfully, she has a wonderful oncologist who has put together an excellent treatment plan to try and shrink her tumor so she does not have to have her large intestine removed. The cancer has spread to several lymph nodes but not to any of her organs yet.

We have so many beautiful memories and moments with her. One of the things we love about her is her great imagination. As a kid, she could create hours' worth of scenarios for her Barbies. As an adult, we have admired her determination to homeschool her children while completing her own college education. She is a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend.

Their health insurance does not cover nearly enough of the costs for treatment, leaving them with a large amount to pay out-of-pocket each month. This has put a tremendous financial burden on their family. Both Heidi and her husband work full-time, and they are doing their best to cover these expenses, and she has to miss a lot of work due to illness. For this reason, we want to reach out and ask for your help covering these costs so our family can continue to create many more memories with her.
