Hello friends, family, and loved ones of Heidi.
My name is Phillip, and I'm reaching out to you today to ask you for your help raising funds for Heidi Tengesdal and her family. Heidi, or as some of you may know her as, Mischyf, passed away tragically on Sunday, 11th May, at the age of 34, and I am trying to assist in funeral costs, help with returning Heidi to Norway from the UK, and to support her family.
What Happened?
Heidi was a wonderful person who was taken from us too soon. She was 34 when she was admitted to the hospital for multiple issues. Colds, flu, coughs, and sniffles had been plaguing her for months, and it got to the point where medical help was needed. Unfortunately, due to an underlying hidden issue with her liver, her body was unable to fight off the ailments. Things got worse, and she was intubated before being transferred to a specialist hospital in London. Things were up and down, and there was hope for a short time... but alas, her body had been fighting so much, her liver gave out, which caused other organs to fail, and eventually toxins got to her. On Sunday, 11th May at 18:36, Heidi passed away... surrounded by her loved ones who cherished her dearly.
The main cause of death was multi-organ failure, caused by autoimmune hepatitis, which is a liver disease where the immune system attacks healthy liver cells. It mainly affects women, and most people don't know they have it until something like this happens.
Who was Heidi / Mischyf
Heidi Tengesdal was such a special soul. Uplifting those around her throughout her life.
Born to Oddbjørn and Irén on August 27th 1990, the young Heidi found herself in an active family often camping, exploring, and living a happy life throughout the 90s. A bookworm, she would often find herself reading for hours on end, lost in her own worlds of imagination and fantasy. She was also curious about the world and very creative, something she would continue to be for the rest of her life!
One story both Heidi and her sister told me was that during one summer, her dad got mad that she was reading too much and to go outside and get some sun! So she just grabbed her book, pillows, and teddies and parked herself on the terrace in the sun, but still continued to read.
During school and her teen years, she learned to become independent. Moving out of her parents' home to make a go of things by herself showed how strong and brave she was.
Her early twenties were when she met me and moved to the UK. During these times, she helped me in so many ways. From coming out of my shell to becoming more of a man, to helping me find work with the local police, to helping me turn my hobby into a career. All this while she studied at University or worked bizarre jobs while she worked out what she really wanted to do. She helped teach me so many things in becoming independent. It wasn't always serious during this time as she loved gaming, WoW, anime, art, botany, and of course... reading!
Entering her 30s Heidi and I moved apart from one another, but we remained good friends... best of friends to me. But she had found a career she was interested in in the world of IT. Here she met Steven, and they instantly hit it off with one another! He helped her, and she helped him. They were a team that completed one another! This ultimately led to what her true goal in life was to be... to be a mother.
Toby was born to Heidi and Steven, and both of them changed. For the better. She cared so much about Toby, he was her life, she told me. Little issues and drama around the world became unimportant as Heidi had seemed to have gained clear sight of what is really important in life... family.
To the very end, Heidi was always so strong and brave. Taking on the world that was set before her. She was always an inspiration who calmed mine and others' anxieties. She helped put things into perspective about what is important in life, and this is who Heidi was to me and many others!
Her Family
Heidi was a wonderful and brave mother to 1-year-old Toby. She was a faithful lover, friend, and companion to her husband, Steven. She was a strong and caring daughter to her parents, Irén, Oddbjørn and Lovise. She was always trying to be an inspiration to her siblings Kethlin, Odd Harold, Christian, and Stig-Rune, who was also taken from us 3 years ago at the age of 25.
She valued family and was happy she finally built her own...
She planned to have her own home... with a garden for her children... she wanted to live...
Why we need support
We need support in two main ways. Firstly, we need assistance with funeral costs. We never expect to leave this world at such a young age, and so, we do not have funds put away for such a tragedy. We want to give Heidi a funeral and memorial service here in the UK, where she spent half her life before moving her ashes back to Norway to be with her roots and family. Heidi being buried in Norway will also give Toby ties to his mother's country and family, so having a headstone and a place we can grieve is desired. Giving him reasons to visit and keep her spirit alive even more!
Secondly, we want to provide some support for her child, Toby. Now with only his father to look after him, we want to make sure they both have the support needed in this time of grief and mourning. Going from a two-person income household to one is never something we plan for or want. So this is another reason we want to do this GoFundMe.
I never realised how much funerals cost till now... Heidi didn't deserve to be taken so young... so let us come together to support the memory of her and to also support her family!
We love you so much Heidi! Your memory will live on in our hearts forever and always!
