Heidi & Steve Senger

Steve and Heidi Senger, our dear classmates from Terra Nova 1965, have lost everything in the Camp Fire in Paradise, CA.  On November 8 the fires came through so quickly they barely escaped with their lives and the clothes on their backs.  During the evacuation in Steve's pickup truck, they picked up other fleeing victims who were stranded, and took them to safety.   As Heidi described "it was like Armaggedon",  the flames lapping at the side of the road, cinders blowing everywhere, and choking smoke for miles.  All of their treasured belongings of 50 years of marriage are gone.. Now the daunting challenge to begin again, and the uncertainty of how to manage through the process. 
The loss also comes at a time when Steve is currently undergoing treatments for a recurring cancer diagnosis.. A double whammy!

The costs for replacements, housing, etc, on top of medical costs, is going to be needed urgently.  Insurance claims take time, and the uncertainty of "how much and when" only adds to the stress.
