Hedgehog Rescue Chipping Sodbury – Helping Hedgehogs Across South Gloucestershire, Bristol & Beyond

For the past 12 years, Hedgehog Rescue Chipping Sodbury has been dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing injured, sick, and orphaned hedgehogs. While we are based in Chipping Sodbury, our work extends across South Gloucestershire, Bristol, and surrounding areas.

If we have space, we’ll help hedgehogs from wherever the need is — there’s no postcode lottery here. Every hedgehog deserves the same chance at survival, no matter where they come from.

Why We Need Your Help

We are incredibly grateful for the support we received through our recent smaller fundraiser — every donation truly helps.

We run on a shoestring. The carers are all volunteers, we do all the DIY ourselves, reuse and repurpose wherever we can, and keep costs to the bare minimum. Still, there are unavoidable expenses — food, bedding, medicines, and vet bills — which rise every year. Without extra help, it’s becoming harder and harder to keep the rescue afloat.

The rescue costs around £6,200 a year to run (about £17 a day) just to keep going. Every single year we operate at a deficit, which means the shortfall is subsidised directly from my own wages, just to keep the rescue alive.

Why Our Work Matters

Hedgehogs are now in significant decline in the UK, with populations falling sharply in both rural and urban areas. Every hedgehog we can rescue, rehabilitate, and release is a vital step in protecting this much-loved species.
