Hector’s Celebration of Life
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Angelica Perez. My father was Hector Perez. My father unfortunately went missing in Robins, IA on December 6th, with his body finally being recovered after three months on March 28. Though my father was fighting drug addiction for a long period of his life, he made a profound impact on the Cedar Rapids community.
He was constantly contributing his time at the Willis Dady homeless shelter, became an ambassador, and donated a large amount of his time to work with troubled youth dealing with chemical dependency. He worked multiple jobs, started attending Western Governors University maintaining a 4.0 GPA, and was able to contribute more than enough time to his friends, family, and of course, the Cedar Rapids community.
Anyone that knows my father knows how bright and animated he was, and nothing could get in his way of helping you. He was one of the most determined, charming, and kindest souls to cross the Earth. He had a profound way of touching the hearts of many. The amount of people that have reached out to my family, telling me how touched they are by my father and his passion for loving the people around him is the most bittersweet feeling in the world. I am so very proud of him and all the people that love him. I am extremely heartbroken that my father’s story had to end like this, but nonetheless, he has touched many lives, and no longer has to fight his demons.
I am asking for donations in order to run his service later this month. Any money that is not needed to cover the celebration of life will be donated in my fathers name to the Willis-Dady Homeless Shelter!
Thank you all!
