Hector and Saraya are our good friends in our JW family. They met through mutual friends six years ago; two years later, they started dating and married in March 2021. Not long after that, Hector had a viral infection that attacked his eyes, and the virus gave him a cornea infection. He now has CSR, also known as Central Serous Retinopathy or Central Serous Chorioretinopathy. In CSR, the macula becomes separated from the eye tissue behind it, and fluid builds up in the space created. This condition has caused Hector's vision to be blurred and distorted due to the excessive fluid in his eyes. He is not able to work anymore or drive due to his vision loss in both eyes, and it has left all the driving to and from appointments to his wife Saraya, who is also taking care of him. At the moment, only Saraya is working. As you can imagine, this has caused a financial strain for them, especially with the high gas prices and driving him to an eye specialist to treat his condition. He is soon scheduled to have a surgery consultation with the hopes of having surgery and restoring his vision. We pray all goes well for him and Saraya, and we know Jehovah is with them and a large JW family that loves them very much. Any help is kindly appreciated, even if it's just a $1.
