Life as we know it is going to be different for a while so we are asking for help to assist our family.

Our new baby Hector has been diagnosed with a heart condition called transposition of the great arteries as well as a heart abnormality which will require open heart surgery and other procedures to ensure his survival. While the odds are good for him the road is long, he will be required to have surgeries/procedures as soon as he is born and ongoing for months into his newborn life. Which will require lots of changes in our home, health and work schedules.

If you know us well you know myself and jonnie are providers by nature and in the last few years we’ve put some serious sacrifices in place for long term goals and this is why we are asking for help from our loved ones so that our whole family is able to stay on track during this difficult time.

Jonnies work is unlike most, he is unable to go to work for a few days at a time or half a day and then come to the hospital, if he misses fly out day he then has no work for 4 weeks. If he flys out he will be unable to be present with us for 2 weeks at a time.

During this pregnancy Shayna has been on semi bed rest since the beginning, so her income has already been affected and will be needing a c section, but will be unable to stay at the hospital full time while Hector is a patient so we are currently managing how travel, parking and accommodations will look for a c section recovery and a baby unable to leave the NICU for possibly months. (We are unfortunately not eligible for any government assistance with parking or accommodations) Not to mention still caring and providing for our 2 sons at home.

We are also needing to do renovations in our living space to ensure we have the correct needs for Hectors long term recovery as well as having to upgrade to the highest private medical cover possible we will still have out of pocket expenses.

For all of these reasons we are reaching out to our community for support, we understand life is tough for all and every season looks different and this is why we have such gratitude for all support, donations and love we receive.
