Hecate’s Teeth, Dolly’s Tumors, COVID, my Mom
Donation protected
AS OF 12/23: Posted a video and photos in the updates section, but I’ve now also tested positive for COVID, meaning I had to cancel my remaining shifts at work for the rest of the year. I don’t start my new job until the second week of January. Consequently, I increased the asking amount to $2,000, making up for the 7 shifts I’ll be missing (23, 24, 26-30).
Happy holidays to me!
Thank you again for your support—donating, link-sharing, and both alike—and being here on this dismal but still wildly entertaining journey with me. I’m trying to laugh at how comically absurd it is that all of this could be happening at once. I daren’t ask, “what’s next?” The universe doesn’t need to keep telling me to get the heck out of Philly by showing the myriads of ways one can be miserable here; I’m literally trying to move out, right now!!

Hi, my name is Liz, and I’m raising money for my cat, Hecate. She’s a little over a year old, but she’s dealing with severe gum disease of some kind and has already lost multiple permanent, adult teeth. Cats are prone to conditions such as tooth resorption (the body attacks plaque, causing it to erode their teeth, and it’s incredibly painful). The following photos were taken a few months apart, with the most recent being today (12/18/21).
As you’ll see below, she lost a tooth on the top and one on the bottom.
It’s highly likely she may need to have most of not all of her teeth pulled to prevent this from recurring.
The least expensive clinic in the Greater Philadelphia Area, where I plan to take her, is The Bridge Clinic (pricing listed through the link) , where their starting prices are over $600 (not including the $35 consultation fee, and the cost of getting to Newtown from my location in West Philly, which would have to be via Uber/Lyft due to otherwise taking 2+ hours one way by public transit as I’m unable to drive).
Additionally, I’m caring for a 17-year-old senior cat who has multiple tumors in her ear and neck and it’s uncertain as to whether or not she will need to be euthanized in the near future due to the growth of the tumor potentially obstructing her ability to breathe or eat (or simply causing intense pain).
I’m asking for $1,500 to cover at least $700 in dental work for Hecate, rideshare fees to take her to and from the clinic, treatment for Dolly to help prevent her tumors from growing any more rapidly (steroids), potentially the cost of euthanasia and cremation for Dolly.
Also included is the cost of renting a Uhaul to cross states (over $100) plus paying someone to drive it/help me move to help, in the midst of moving from Philadelphia to New York—during the holiday season—as I have to be out of my current house by the end of the month/New Years. This move was meant to be my opportunity to start fresh with a new job after a year of losing multiple loved ones (including two of my grandparents, my Nonna having passed on Christmas of 2020 of COVID) and dealing with prolonged depression and grieving. Now I’m deeply, incredibly overwhelmed again; I have a very narrow window of time to make this happen, as the cost of vet care is only going to increase once I’m living in New York.
Even if you’re unable to give, sharing the fundraiser can help it potentially be seen by those who are in the position to donate.
Thank you in advance for your help—truly. My cats are my kids and—as an autistic person with anxiety, depression, and C-PTSD—they’re also my lifeline/emotional support.
