The Lebanese Foundation at HEC Paris
This initiative was set up by the HEC Paris September 2020 Lebanese cohort.
After the tragic event that took place on the 4th of August in Beirut Lebanon, we decided to create this group in order to help the people affected by this tragedy.
The explosion which killed hundreds, wounded thousands and displaced more than 300,000 people, comes at a sensitive time for Lebanon. The country is going through the worst economic crisis of its history with more than 50% of the population living below the poverty line, 35% unemployment rate and an increasing hyperinflation.
Unfortunately, since the ones in need cannot count on our government, we have decided to take matters into our own hands and act as a link between people willing to help and the ones in need.
Our initiative is quite straightforward:
A few times a week, our team will be collecting various supplies as well as donations to be able to distribute them to people in affected areas.
We have divided the requirements as follows:
1- Clothing
2- Medicine & Care
3- Housing
4- Food & Water
Supplying a family of four in food, water and medicine would cost 30€
