Hebron Junior School – Sponsoring Education & Clean Water
Donation protected
Hebron Junior School in Uganda is more than just a school, it’s a lifeline for hundreds of children eager to learn, grow, and build a future beyond their circumstances. My journey with Hebron began in 2017, during my first volunteering experience. At that time, the school had 175 students, a long waiting list of eager learners, and passionate teachers struggling to keep things running due to financial constraints.
Despite these challenges, hope and resilience were at the heart of Hebron. The dedication of the staff and students was inspiring, but the school lacked the necessary resources to thrive.
Nestled in the village of Garuga, Hebron Junior School sits between Uganda’s bustling cities of Entebbe and Kampala. Away from the urban rush, this gem provides a safe and nurturing environment where children can learn, grow, and dream big.
A School Built on Hope & Resilience
Thanks to the generosity of so many during my #Road2Uganda campaign, we built a new schoolhouse that today educates an additional 150 students .
Fast forward to today, and Hebron Junior School has grown, with over 370 students aged 3 to 14. But with growth comes new challenges.
The Urgent Needs of Hebron Junior School
1. Access to Clean & Safe Water
One of the most pressing issues at Hebron is access to clean drinking water. The cost of clean water remains a significant burden, as the local supply is too expensive to sustain. However, there is hope! Hebron School has been blessed with an underground water source within the school’s grounds. We now aim to drill a well that will provide a sustainable and long-term solution for the students and teachers.
Our Goal: Raise funds to drill a well, ensuring clean and safe water for the entire school community.
The total cost to complete this life-changing project is 8 million Ugandan Shillings (approx. £1,700 ). This includes the drilling, installation, purification system, and maintenance setup to ensure that students and staff have safe and clean drinking water every single day.
Your contribution can help us make this vision a reality. Whether you donate towards part of the project or fund a full section, every pound, dollar, or shilling takes us one step closer to ensuring a safer and healthier education for these young individuals.
2. Education Sponsorship – Give a Child the Gift of Learning
Many students at Hebron struggle to afford school fees, meals, and learning materials. Without financial support, these children risk losing access to education, limiting their potential and future opportunities. School classes are not separate due to age but due to ability in Uganda for many reason. So the ages I have provided below are an estimate
When sponsoring a child through this platform, please submit your donation and email/message so we can ensure you stay connected with the child you support. This allows them to send you updates, letters, and share their journey with you.
