The Hebrew Congregation of Mountaindale is located in the Catskill Mountains of NY.  The synagogue is in major need of very important repairs and preservation.  This house of worship was built over 100 years ago, and has Historic Landmark status(wikipedia).  It is a beautiful building with stained glass windows and turn of the century architecture.  We are a close knot congregation, who's families have been praying together for many years.  Unfortunately, we are at a point where the synagogue has a leaky roof that is long overdue to be replaced.  There are also other structural issues that have been inspected by engineers and local highway department/public works.  The building sits 35 feet above a creek.  The land between the building and the creek is slowly eroding, causing potential structural issues.  We need to hire a construction company to create a solid barrier to keep the earth from further erosion, preventing structural damage.

We welcome you to come and see for yourself, and attend services.  We are happy to receive any assistance with this very important matter.  We have so few members, that it's extremely difficult to raise the funds for the necessary repairs.

Any advice, ideas, suggestions, and/or materials that would help us achieve our goal would be greatly appreciated.  We would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have.  

We have already received a $10,000 grant.  We need to at least match this grant in order to receive it.  Based on feed back and estimates, we have come up with a goal of $90,000 in order to complete all necessary work.
