On Saturday 30th May, Hebden Bridge Cricket Club was broken into. Vandals targeted one of our essential groundwork huts, taking valuable equipment that our volunteers rely on weekly. To make matters worse, they also had a fire on various parts of our pitch, which will leave us with lasting damage.
As a small, community-run cricket club, we have massive ambitions. We want to be a place where local cricket thrives, with bigger ambitions to serve our community, which we feel extremely lucky to be part of. Recently, we have been actively planning our vision for the long-term future of the club, including:
- Essential facility upgrades for players and visitors.
- Major pitch improvements
- Security upgrades
Why We Need Your Help
Setbacks like this don’t just cost money; they steal our time and threaten our capacity to grow. Instead of investing our limited funds into moving the club forward, we are now forced to spend them on replacing stolen kit and repairing the damage.
We are determined not to let this act of vandalism stop our progress. We intend to push forward with our plans for security, facility, and pitch upgrades.
How You Can Support Us
We are asking our incredible local community and friends for any support you can manage.
Hebden Bridge CC is run by volunteers who love this sport and this community. We are incredibly grateful for any donation, large or small, to help get us into a stronger position to build a more secure, accessible and thriving club for everyone.
Thank you so much for your generosity and support.
