Heba Zagout Foundation

Dear friends, welcome to the Heba Zagout Fund. We will be raising funds in order to provide access to the creative arts for the children of Gaza.

Heba Zagout was a talented artist and school teacher from Gaza, who - on 13 October 2023 - was killed, along with her two children, in an Israeli missile strike. In honour of Heba's memory, we are bringing together her love for art and music with her love for children, in order to build a fitting and lasting memorial to her life and work.

Since October 2023, over 21,000 people have been killed in Gaza, including over 8,000 children, and over 56,000 others have been injured. Of the 2 million people who live in Gaza, over 85% have been displaced. Over half the population are children, and as the horrors of the invasion continue, and eventually (insh'allah soon) the aftermath and rebuilding begins, these children will need all possible resources to cope with the traumas they have experienced.

Art and music are crucial tools in human expression and healing. Your gifts will ensure that the children of Gaza have access to materials and teaching that will allow them to express themselves fully.
