HEAVY LIES THE CROWN - CROWDFUNDING CAMPAIGN

Greetings, we are Elyrium Films and we proudly present to you our "baby": HEAVY LIES THE CROWN. We´ve been working on this 33-minute-long project for the past year and expect to be finished in not longer than one more year. After having gone through location-scouting, actor-casting as well as filming the actual thing, we have established that we are in need of financial aid.

WHAT WE NEED

Currently, we are finding ourselves in our post-production phase and are needing the following: CHF 2000.- for composing, CHF 4000.- for color-grading and CHF 4000.- for sound-design. Good thing about us is, that the movie is already shot, hence there are less risks than with a project that still hasn´t started. We may not be professionals yet, but we do have experience, so we know and trust in our skills and are sure to have potential of getting successful with this.

The film follows Flynn and Grace, two people from different backgrounds but with similar problems. Flynn tries everything to help his terminally ill mother and, due to a lack of prospects, takes the illegal route. His unscrupulous nature quickly attracts the attention of a mysterious man who can give him everything but demands even more in return. Desperate, Flynn enters into a pact from which there is no return. More and more Flynn sees himself lost on a dark path that pulls him into even deeper abysses.

OUR STORY

Our movie is a re-interpretation of Goethes classic novel “Faust” and puts light on issues in our society and plays with the thesis of what if the character in the famous story didn’t yearn for knowledge but for power. It is a gloomy tragedy that inspires you and might make you think about certain life choices. It contains explicit topics such as drug usage and self-harm. Viewers discretion is certainly advised. However, there is a moral to the story, which we let our viewers interpret by themselves. We want to hear all the different theories from everyone, because from where one sees it, it might be 110% different from the other. With this project, we have created room for discussions and creativity.

CREATING WITH AN AMAZING TEAM

We started filming approximately 6 months ago and it was quite the rollercoaster. Through all stages of stress, happiness, fatigue, rage and most definitely every emotion the human being can feel, we were finally able for wrap it up. Our team contains of the director and writer, two assistant directors, one director of photography, one director of sound, one special effect make-up artist, up to 8 actors and many more helpers. Everybody had full battery on motivation and nobody got left behind. If a scene took five hours to make, everybody was there to help. This project did not only create a worth-seeing movie, but also a strong bond of friendship amongst all of us. Our teammates couldn’t be more different from each other, but one thing that we have in common is our faith and passion for this film.
