Hello beautiful people!
My name is Heavenly. I’m a DC native, a researcher in training, and a soon to be graduate of Lafayette College! For my senior year, I’ve applied and been accepted to the School for International Training’s Social & Environmental Change in Oceania program. For three months I will be living in Samoa learning about the communities in the Pacific Region, climate change in Oceania, and even some beginners Samoan. I will be applying my CITI certification in Social & Behavioral Research and working directly with Pacific communities to develop a research project highlighting the preservation of culture by focusing the ways natives respond to climate change as a community.
I’ve created this fundraiser to ask for assistance with relieving some of the financial
stress of my semester. As a first generation college student coming from a single parent household, I’ve been responsible for providing a way for myself throughout college. After saving up from a campus job and applying for scholarships I still require $3,500 for travel, books, room & board, and other expenses necessary to guarantee smooth reallocation, as I will be across different islands in the Pacific Ocean.
Please help where you can and share with your friends and family. Your contributions will be greatly appreciated!
Huge Thanks
